Hard Drive SATA WD Launches World's Fastest


Some time ago, Western Digital Product Showcase held the first in Indonesia. At the ceremony, WD bring some of their best selling products. One is the WD VelociRaptor, the fastest SATA hard drive on the market today. Hard drives are capable of rotating up to 10,000 RPM!

WD VelociRaptor is designed for blade servers, PCs, Mac computers, workstations, servers and also rack 1U and 2U size.

WD VelociRaptor SATA interface 6 Gb per second with 32 MB cache. With the existence of such interfaces, WD claims that the latest generation of hard drive speed they increased to 15% larger than the previous generation.

WD VelociRaptor SATA has been available in larger capacities than previous generations. Now, the hard drive comes with a size of 600 GB, twice the capacity of previous generations.

Outside Indonesia, WD WD VelociRaptor sold in a box with an interesting picture. Unfortunately, they do not sell by packaging the same in Indonesia. Instead, the WD VelociRaptor is packaged with a mounting frame sized 3.5 inch enterprise class who are ready to be installed on the backplane with integrated heat sink which keeps the drive cool.

Hard drives are designed and manufactured to run mission critical enterprise-class standards in an environment of continuous run heavy jobs. With an average lifetime of up to 1.4 million hours, this drive is rated for high reliability.

WD 450 GB VelociRaptor will be sold in the market with a price of USD299. While the WD VelociRaptor 600 GB will be priced at USD350.

With speeds reaching 10 000 RPM, the hard drive is a promising process of write and read data more quickly. In fact, WD claims that users can install a program much faster than other hard drives. However, speed and durability high enough forcing devotees to spend extra money. Berminatkah you?
